This year we decided to make 100 Day of School tie-dye t-shirts with our students!
We bought Hanes boys t-shirts (pack of 5 for $11) from Target.
The kids tied rubber-bands all over their shirt. It was up to them where and how many rubber bands they wanted to use.
The next day, the students chose yellow or red for their shirts, and got to help stir the shirts in the dye. Next year we plan on trying out a few more colors.
Once the shirts were rinsed and dried, we used a stencil and had the kids sponge paint 100 on the front of the shirt using fabric paint.
The last step after the fabric paint dried was to have each student sign their name on the back of their classmate's shirt using a permanent pen.
Look at how cute these little guys look!
Here is our 100th Day of School Hat. Students write the numbers by 10's in each of the stars with a black pen, and color everything in. It is then glued in order onto a sentence strip and stapled.
HOORAY! For the 100th Day of School!
